Significance of Ratha Saptami
In accordance to Hindu faith, the Sun God was born to Sage Kashyapa and Aditi on the Saptami Tithi of Magha, Shukla Paksha. Therefore, Ratha Saptami Day is often known as Surya Jayanti.
