MANILA, Philippines — Two feminine tourists in El Nido, Palawan, will as an alternative face formal complaints for presenting fake Covid-19 swab test results to the native authorities, the Division of Tourism (DOT) stated Saturday.
TheDOT, in a press release, stated police held the tourists on the Lio Airport on Feb. 16.
Authorities found the violation after checking the fast response (QR) code of the clinic that supposedly performed and issued the test results.
The tourists violated Republic Act 11322 or the Necessary Reporting of Notifiable Ailments and Well being Occasions of Public Well being Concern Act.
“That is in violation of RA 11322 Sec (g) Tampering of Data or deliberately offering misinformation,” stated DOT.
The tourism division stated the tourists have been despatched to a lodge for seven-day necessary quarantine.
